Food and Drug Administration
Prompted by recent statistics showing that more than 60 percent of the U.S. population is overweight, FDA has launched an improved Web site devoted to consumer information on weight loss. The site functions as a gateway to material from the FDA and other federal agencies on topics such as meal planning, setting weight-loss goals, approved treatments, and diet scams.
