What is web-based training?

Web-based training is a new form of distance learning and computer-based training where the instructional materials are located on web pages on the World Wide Web (WWW). In addition to basic text and graphics, web-based training can use animation, audio and video, as well as e-mail and other interactive technologies. The terms "on-line courses" and web-based training are often used interchangeably.
